Genesis

For as long as I remember, I’ve always owned a blog. I’ve had angelfire, geocities, wordpress or any web hosting site that was free. Who remembers having a xanga? Coz you bet I had that too! I remember using xanga to blog about my experience when I went back to the Philippines in 2005. I was born in the Philippines but haven’t been back since I was 6, (when my family moved to the states) so I wanted to document everything! I was always a big documenter of everything going on. I wish I could read over all the things I have written on that trip. I remember being so impatient because getting on the internet required dial-up and not everything loaded fast enough. Oh wow, has time changed. But I digress.

The purpose of my blog back then was… well… I’m not sure it actually had a real purpose, other than to rant about random stuff going on in my life.  My blog also went through phases of active and inactivity. But this time around, I want to be more purposeful and committed. It’s actually one of my new year goals and intentions. I want to be intentional about what I do and follow through with everything that I say I will do.

A little background

Back in 2013 I transitioned my blog from a rant-about-anything-and-everything to a travel blog. I took a month off from work and traveled all over Asia with my boyfriend at that time. I blogged the whole experience. Then shortly after, I took my first solo trip — to South Korea. No, I did not know how to speak Korean, nor have I been there before. It was scary and exciting and at the same time I learned things about myself that I never would have been able to, if I didn’t step out of my comfort zone. I was obsessed with traveling and wanted to keep doing it. My boyfriend and I had plans to quit our jobs, live abroad and just travel. But life doesn’t always go as planned and we ended up breaking up. I still wanted to travel, so that’s when I decided to become a travel nurse. I’m no longer a travel nurse but I still travel as much as I can. And I want to continue traveling and documenting all of my adventures.

However, I want this space to be about something bigger than just me doing cool shit. What I'll be writing here will be vulnerable and real.

I’ll be doing a lot of things that scare the hell out of me and hopefully it’ll help me grow into the best version of me -- and inspire you to also be the best version of you…
